4,5-Methylenedioxy-1,2-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride is a fluorescence tag for α keto acids. It is also required for the derivatisation of sialic acids in presence of dilute sulfuric acid. The method allows determination of sialic acids.
4,5-Methylenedioxy-1,2-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride has been used for the derivatisation of sialic acids to analyse them by capillary liquid-chromatography-electrospray ionisation/tandem mass spectrometry (CapLC-ESI-MS/MS). Fluorogenic reagent for α-ketoacids.
